Bells Only Systems
ITS recommend Monitored Alarm Systems but we can also supply and
install "Bells Only" type systems.
With the need to cut false alarms in the industry Bells Only/Audible Alarms
are largely ignored by the Police.
They are however still regularly installed from DIY systems to those
professionally installed, which in our case still consist of quality kit but
sound their only warning via an outside strobe/siren. This audible warning is
limited to 20 minutes continuous sounding only.
The weakness here is that a thief can trip the alarm on a property, go away
until the noise stops and then enter and do whatever without further disturbance
from the alarm.
If you are lucky enough to live in a community which would respond to the noise
then such a system may be sufficient, but Police will not respond unless there
is additional evidence of an offence taking place.
Because of this Insurance Companies can be reluctant to accept such systems
which also do not have to have the same coverage by sensors as a compliant
monitored alarm, i.e sensors can be omitted as 2 sensors do not have to be
activated to obtain a Police response under DD243, THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE. Also
there is not usually a Maintenance Contract in force for such a system which can
deter Insurers from accepting their worthiness in preventing/detecting crime.
IT IS NOT ALL NEGATIVE THOUGH, YES WE WILL PROFESSIONALLY INSTALL SUCH A SYSTEM,
AND YES WE WILL ISSUE A MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR IT AND IF YOU TAKE UP THE
KEYHOLDER OPTION IN THE FOLLOWING PARA, THE USEFULNESS OF SUCH A SYSTEM IS NOT
FAR SHORT OF A PROPERLY MONITORED SYSTEM.
DO YOU WANT YOUR KEYHOLDERS INFORMED?
A BELLS ONLY Alarm system can be monitored to provide a keyholder response.
Suitable systems can be upgraded and connected via your telephone line to send
an alert signal to our Alarm Receiving Station,
who will in turn contact up to 3 of your registered keyholders.
This service is charged at £7.50 per month.
Contact us and we arrange for one of our
security experts to contact you and discuss your particular
requirements, make recommendations for a unique solution and offer
practical alternatives.
